Human Rights Defender to launch a new website for children

On October 6 the Human Rights Defender’s Office will present its new website dedicated to child rights. The event will take place in Raddison Blu Yerevan hotel (Azatutyun 2/2) at 14:00.

The website was made possible with the support of UNICEF and Kaspersky Lab with the goal to raise awareness about child rights and protection mechanisms available for children to safeguard their rights.

The launch will be preceded by a briefing on child rights in a digital age with the participation of:

  • Arman Tatoyan, Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia
  • Armen Karapetyan, Regional Representative of Kaspersky Lab in Armenia and Georgia
  • Tanja Radocaj, UNICEF Representative in Armenia

UNICEF data shows that children are one third of internet users worldwide. Being connected provides children with opportunities to learn, but it also poses significant risks to children’s safety, privacy and wellbeing, so protection of their rights becomes of utmost importance.

The new website will be presented by Eduard Israyelyan, head of Child Rights Protection Division at HRDO.
